MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Maxim Timaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Pociu in the 10th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Basarab Zăreanu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Basarab Zogreanu to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of MONDIAL BUCURESTI booed when Steagu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Oprescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Zăreanu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 17th minute. MONDIAL BUCURESTI's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Steagu booed when MONDIAL BUCURESTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Șerban Cretan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Basarab Zăreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Zogreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Zăreanu in the 31st minute of play forced Steagu's goalkeeper Basarab Zogreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Steagu's Vasile Pociu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maxim Timaru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Basarab Zogreanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the game, MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Basarab Zăreanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Basarab Zogreanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 45 minutes into the match, Vasile Pociu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Maxim Timaru. Maxim Timaru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Basarab Zăreanu made the kick off in the second half. Basarab Zogreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Zăreanu in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Steagu's Anton Arapașu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maxim Timaru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Zăreanu in the 57th minute of play forced Steagu's goalkeeper Basarab Zogreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicu Mitulescu hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Basarab Zogreanu came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Basarab Zăreanu. But to his dismay, Basarab Zăreanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. A sloppy throw-in by Mădălin Joldea in the 66th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Cristi Bocu. Maxim Timaru made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Anton Arapașu sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Steagu booed when MONDIAL BUCURESTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Stoicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. MONDIAL BUCURESTI's Basarab Zăreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Basarab Zăreanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basarab Zogreanu. Steagu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basarab Zăreanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After some careless play in the Steagu defense, Daniel Stoicu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basarab Zogreanu. The Steagu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basarab Zogreanu should have stopped the shot. Basarab Zogreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Șerban Cretan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Basarab Zăreanu in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basarab Zogreanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
