Pompiliu Nicolae was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cazimir Vizitiu during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of CSA Steaua Bucuresti booed when Peticei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cazimir Vizitiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ovidiu Ciolpan came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by CSA Steaua Bucuresti's Emanuel Enceanu. But to his dismay, Emanuel Enceanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Enceanu in the 27th minute of play forced Peticei's goalkeeper Ovidiu Ciolpan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ovidiu Ciolpan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iacob Mateescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, CSA Steaua Bucuresti's Aurel Popeneciu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidiu Ciolpan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Peticei's Ovidiu Ciolpan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Mateescu in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Iacob Mateescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ovidiu Ciolpan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Ovidiu Ciolpan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Popeneciu in the 57th minute of the match. Cazimir Vizitiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peticei's Ovidiu Ciolpan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Mateescu in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, CSA Steaua Bucuresti's Emanuel Enceanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidiu Ciolpan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. 64 minutes into the match, Peticei's goalkeeper Ovidiu Ciolpan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Enceanu. Ovidiu Ciolpan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Popeneciu in the 65th minute of the match. If Cazimir Vizitiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ovidiu Ciolpan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Arseni in the 70th minute of play. A collision led to Peticei getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ferdinand Milcu hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the game, CSA Steaua Bucuresti's Emanuel Enceanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidiu Ciolpan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8. With a little luck, Peticei's Ovidiu Ciolpan got control of the ball when Iacob Mateescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Iacob Mateescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Peticei's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Popeneciu came free, but Ovidiu Ciolpan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iacob Mateescu got free with Ovidiu Ciolpan in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ovidiu Ciolpan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Popeneciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the match was over CSA Steaua Bucuresti could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Peticei throughout the match.
