Eliodor Ghionescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Mahonea in the 13th minute of the match. Ilie Șofran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Eliodor Ghionescu made a huge save. A collision led to ARADI VASAS FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Marian Iureș hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ilisesti SC's Gigel Mahonea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eliodor Ghionescu. That made the score 2-0 after 28 minutes of play. Ion Stoicescu struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Marcu Brădean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ARADI VASAS FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Ion Stoicescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. ARADI VASAS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ion Stoicescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcu Brădean breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ARADI VASAS FC's Eliodor Ghionescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save ARADI VASAS FC from getting a goal against them. Dumitru Luțu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcu Brădean having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dumitru Luțu made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Ilisesti SC's Silviu Gogu got a free kick in the 52nd minute. ARADI VASAS FC's Eliodor Ghionescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilie Șofran in the 58th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Marcu Brădean successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dorel Poplăcan kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Gigel Mahonea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliodor Ghionescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0.
