Valentin Beligan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC BOTOSANI. The audience was convinced that Laurențiu Lovin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentin Beligan was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Catelesti CSS's Cosmin Crușeveanu got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Cezar Hidiș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bogdan Munteanu came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the FC BOTOSANI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bogdan Munteanu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Lovin in the 20th minute of play forced Catelesti CSS's goalkeeper Valentin Beligan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentin Beligan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bogdan Munteanu's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Bogdan Munteanu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Valentin Beligan. Marcel Avădanei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Crușeveanu in the 26th minute of play. If Bogdan Munteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Lovin in the 31st minute of play forced Catelesti CSS's goalkeeper Valentin Beligan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogdan Munteanu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Valentin Beligan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Laurențiu Lovin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valentin Beligan. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. Pompiliu Bădiță hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Laurențiu Lovin had several of the Catelesti CSS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 42 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Valentin Beligan as he didn't even see the shot coming. Laurențiu Lovin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Valentin Beligan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cezar Hidiș to strike the kick off in the second half. Valentin Beligan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurențiu Lovin, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Valeriu Gabrea hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Petrică Balint during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes Catelesti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Balint. FC BOTOSANI's Laurențiu Lovin got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valentin Beligan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bogdan Munteanu in the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Laurențiu Lovin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bogdan Munteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Beligan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurențiu Lovin in the 74th minute of the match. Pompiliu Bădiță was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 76 played minutes Catelesti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Pompiliu Bădiță. After recieving a nice pass, FC BOTOSANI's Iulian Cumpan tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Laurențiu Lovin struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Manole Rădulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When FC BOTOSANI's Laurențiu Lovin in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Catelesti CSS's goalie prevented a goal. Bogdan Munteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Beligan having to interfere. Valentin Beligan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogdan Munteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Beligan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurențiu Lovin in the 86th minute of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Laurențiu Lovin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC BOTOSANI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurențiu Lovin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bogdan Munteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC BOTOSANI's Laurențiu Lovin managed to work through Catelesti CSS's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Laurențiu Lovin dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.
