In the 12th minute Lucrețiu Căliman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantin Domuță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ripa's Iacob Brânzeu got a free kick in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, FC Dinamo's Irinel Costandin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 22 minutes into the game, Dragoş Murgoci was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Dinamo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ripa the free kick. A collision led to FC Dinamo getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Dragoş Murgoci hit a great ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Mihăiţă Pipirig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ripa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihăiţă Pipirig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Costel Iorgulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Constantin Domuță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costel Iorgulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute, Cristian Ghimpu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Costel Iorgulescu was the one to do the kick off. Mihăiţă Pipirig struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Fabian Poplăcan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ripa. Cristian Ghimpu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ripa's Mihăiţă Pipirig got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Costel Iorgulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Lucrețiu Căliman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Ghimpu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabian Poplăcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Ghimpu in the 75th minute of play. If Mihăiţă Pipirig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Cristian Ghimpu came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ripa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Ghimpu couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Silviu Silvian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Dinamo's Fabian Poplăcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihăiţă Pipirig in the 95th minute of play.
