In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Frunzisul CS's goalkeeper Ionuț Bogătan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 3 played minutes Frunzisul CS got a freekick which was hit by Horia Baican. Irinel Lucian received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ionuț Bogătan came out and tried to block the shot, but Irinel Lucian slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. In the 8thth minute of the game Aurel Deleanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Independenta CSS's Marin Trică was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Petruț Feteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Frunzisul CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petruț Feteanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marin Trică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petruț Feteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonard Stanomir charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonard Stanomir the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leonard Stanomir kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Aurel Deleanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Independenta CSS's zone, Aurel Deleanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marin Trică came out of the goal and Aurel Deleanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Petruț Feteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marin Trică made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petruț Feteanu in the 31st minute of play. Ionuț Bogătan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iurie Aldulescu in the 32nd minute. Marin Trică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petruț Feteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Aurel Buculeasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iurie Aldulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Ionuț Bogătan made a huge save. Aurel Deleanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Marin Trică tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Horia Baican's late challenge caught a Independenta CSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horia Baican helped the player get up and apologised. Horia Baican hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute of the match Gelu Iovan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ionuț Bogătan skillfully saved the ball. Frunzisul CS's Ionuț Bogătan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Lucian in the 88th minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Irinel Lucian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, Petruț Feteanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Marin Trică was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
