Mihai Cubleșan started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Frunzisul CS booed when Bucium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Ponor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ionuț Bogătan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doru Popa's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Bogdan Mirea was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 30 minutes in the game, Mihai Cubleșan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ionuț Bogătan having to interfere. Doru Popa in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ionuț Bogătan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Mihai Cubleșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Mihai Cubleșan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionuț Bogătan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When %teams%'s Doru Popa was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-1 just inside the left pole, 40 minutes into the game. Ionuț Bogătan was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Petruț Feteanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bogdan Mirea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Petruț Feteanu ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aurel Deleanu made a kick off. A collision led to Frunzisul CS getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Mircea Mandoiu hit a great ball. When Mihai Cubleșan came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Bucium fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihai Cubleșan couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute Aurel Buculeasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Mirea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mihai Cubleșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petruț Feteanu got free with Bogdan Mirea in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frunzisul CS's Ionuț Bogătan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doru Popa in the 76th minute of play. Ionuț Bogătan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Cubleșan, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Mihai Cubleșan notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Frunzisul CS's Ionuț Bogătan. Ionuț Bogătan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
