Nicolae Zgîrţa's late challenge caught a Independenta CSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolae Zgîrţa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind BVB Flaming's goalkeeper Ferdinand Budianu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Claudiu Lăcătușu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferdinand Budianu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Irinel Lucian went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ferdinand Budianu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irinel Lucian in the 17th minute of the match. BVB Flaming's Ferdinand Budianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Lucian in the 19th minute of play. Ferdinand Budianu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Aldulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. BVB Flaming's Ferdinand Budianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Lucian in the 25th minute of play. Irinel Lucian charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Irinel Lucian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Independenta CSS's Irinel Lucian got a free kick in the 28th minute. Iurie Aldulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ferdinand Budianu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Mugur Gane managed to get in a good position for a shot. BVB Flaming's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugur Gane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marin Trică breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iurie Aldulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irinel Lucian blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferdinand Budianu having to make a save. After a rather tough play, BVB Flaming's Sandu Negulici got a free kick in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandu Negulici was the one to do the kick off. Ferdinand Budianu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Lucian in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, BVB Flaming's Nicolae Zgîrţa got a free kick in the 57th minute. Ferdinand Budianu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iurie Aldulescu in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in BVB Flaming's zone, Aristide Avramescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferdinand Budianu came out of the goal and Aristide Avramescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iurie Aldulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ferdinand Budianu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolae Zgîrţa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 73rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iurie Aldulescu got free with Ferdinand Budianu in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90thth minute of the game Irinel Lucian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BVB Flaming's Ferdinand Budianu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ionuț Panescu hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Gelu Iovan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Independenta CSS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
