The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Ovidiu Cinteză fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Noel FC's protests and gave Ovidiu Cinteză a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Noel FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ovidiu Cinteză hit a great ball. Octav Hrean's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Petru Goșa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mihail Dobrescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Petru Goșa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Noel FC booed when Moldoveni AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurel Sabău didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Iordache Ghionea sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Petru Goșa threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Iordache Ghionea this time. In the 15th minute of the match Noel FC got a corner. Moldoveni AC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iordache Ghionea ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Moldoveni AC booed when Noel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sorin Bidulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petrică Voiculescu in the 22nd minute of play forced Noel FC's goalkeeper Flavius Dinculescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petru Goșa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Octav Hrean's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Octav Hrean did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Petru Goșa 27 minutes into the match. Octav Hrean struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Petru Goșa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Noel FC. If Octav Hrean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihail Dobrescu had several of the Moldoveni AC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 37 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Petru Goșa as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some careless play in the Noel FC defense, Petrică Voiculescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavius Dinculescu. The Noel FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavius Dinculescu should have stopped the shot. Felix Zorlescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavius Dinculescu having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mihail Dobrescu to strike the kick off in the second half. Octav Hrean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. After 62 played minutes Noel FC got a freekick which was hit by Florin Moșoiu. 63 minutes into the match, Noel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Petrică Voiculescu came free, but Flavius Dinculescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moldoveni AC's Petru Goșa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octav Hrean in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Dobrescu in the 71st minute of play forced Moldoveni AC's goalkeeper Petru Goșa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petru Goșa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mădălin Praporgescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihail Dobrescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petru Goșa having to interfere. If Mihail Dobrescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Moldoveni AC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Costel Antipa hit a great ball. If Octav Hrean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Moldoveni AC's Aurel Sabău got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Noel FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
