Oprisesti's Moise Cucerzan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Oprisesti from getting a goal against them. If Marin Pătrășconiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oprisesti's Moise Cucerzan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Pătrășconiu in the 11th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Sarfalva's goal looked a bit too open when Corneliu Lăzărescu came free, but Constantin Cotoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marin Pătrășconiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Moise Cucerzan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olimpiu Bulă got free with Moise Cucerzan in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Constantin Cotoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Ilica in the 19th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sarfalva's zone, Corneliu Lăzărescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Constantin Cotoi came out of the goal and Corneliu Lăzărescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute Valentin Ilica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantin Cotoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Sarfalva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudiu Sabău to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Corneliu Lăzărescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Constantin Cotoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 29 minutes, Olimpiu Bulă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sarfalva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olimpiu Bulă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Sarfalva booed when Oprisesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vintilă Nae didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moise Cucerzan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marin Pătrășconiu's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 37 minutes into the match, Sarfalva's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Ilica came free, but Constantin Cotoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Corneliu Lăzărescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantin Cotoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Constantin Cotoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corneliu Lăzărescu in the 41st minute of the match. Corneliu Lăzărescu struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Constantin Cotoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oprisesti. The audience was convinced that Valentin Ilica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Constantin Cotoi was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The Sarfalva players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Oprisesti were winning 0-1.

Oprisesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sarfalva the free kick. The supporters of Sarfalva booed when Oprisesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codruț Nicorici didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Olimpiu Bulă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarfalva's supporters rose to their feet, but Olimpiu Bulă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Moise Cucerzan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marin Pătrășconiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moise Cucerzan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marin Pătrășconiu ran back to his position shaking his head. The Sarfalva supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Oprisesti's performance. The match ended with a win for Oprisesti.
