Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Letcani's Narcis Floroiu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stelian Stancu in the 6th minute of play forced Letcani's goalkeeper Tudor Coșmeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tudor Coșmeanu came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Ghighiu AFC's Stelian Stancu. But to his dismay, Stelian Stancu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 22 minutes into the game, Dumitru Udroiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Letcani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ghighiu AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Letcani's Dumitru Udroiu got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Stelian Stancu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Coșmeanu having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Alexandru Ţiriac managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Letcani's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandru Ţiriac was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Ghighiu AFC's Octavian Ispir got control of the ball when Nichifor Ghiciușca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Letcani's Tudor Coșmeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Hobjilă in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Alexandru Ţiriac got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mugurel Hobjilă to strike the kick off in the second half. Letcani's Alexandru Ţiriac got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Octavian Ispir stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Narcis Floroiu's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. If Narcis Floroiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tudor Coșmeanu was a little too slow when Mugurel Hobjilă got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-4. Octavian Ispir stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandru Ţiriac's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. When Narcis Floroiu came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Letcani fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narcis Floroiu couldn't finish the play. Octavian Ispir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Ţiriac, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Dacian Goga charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dacian Goga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ghighiu AFC booed when Letcani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dacian Goga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stelian Stancu struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Tudor Coșmeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ghighiu AFC. Mugurel Hobjilă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narcis Floroiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Octavian Ispir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandru Ţiriac struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Octavian Ispir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Letcani. If Narcis Floroiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nichifor Ghiciușca fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Letcani's protests and gave Nichifor Ghiciușca a yellow card for diving instead. Ghighiu AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Letcani's much stronger midfield.
