Gigel Buciuman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Eric Trapcea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sever Răduțu kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Chelis FC defense, Eric Trapcea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Popoacă. The Chelis FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Popoacă should have stopped the shot. In the 16thth minute of the game Petruț Nicolcioiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but METAXA's Gigel Buciuman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Petruț Nicolcioiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Buciuman having to interfere. Petruț Nicolcioiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gigel Buciuman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Petruț Nicolcioiu ran back to his position shaking his head. If Călin Ortacu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Călin Ortacu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Gigel Buciuman made a huge save. When Eliodor Ponor fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored METAXA's protests and gave Eliodor Ponor a yellow card for diving instead. Gigel Buciuman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Călin Ortacu in the 31st minute of the match. Marcu Vasiloiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Popoacă having to interfere. Ivan Popoacă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Trapcea, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 42 played minutes METAXA got a freekick which was hit by Gavril Isopescu. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Călin Ortacu was the one to do the kick off. Călin Ortacu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gigel Buciuman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Călin Ortacu came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Chelis FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Călin Ortacu couldn't finish the play. In the 61st match minute, Chelis FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Călin Ortacu to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Eric Trapcea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The METAXA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Gigel Buciuman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petruț Nicolcioiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute, Eliodor Ponor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Chelis FC's Petruț Nicolcioiu got a free kick in the 78th minute. Eric Trapcea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Popoacă having to make a save. Gigel Buciuman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Călin Ortacu in the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Marcu Vasiloiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. METAXA's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcu Vasiloiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Popoacă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. METAXA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
