Dorel Vasilescu came out of the goal and Manuel Grozuță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute Nichifor Zdrehuş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Lăzărescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to F.C Steaua Berca getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Anton Iftode hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Petrică Pavel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrian Lăzărescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichifor Zdrehuş, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. F.C Steaua Berca's Adrian Lăzărescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petrică Pavel in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, David Beșleaga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prahova FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C Steaua Berca the free kick. In the 57th minute, Petrică Pavel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, F.C Steaua Berca's goalkeeper Adrian Lăzărescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nichifor Zdrehuş. Adrian Lăzărescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petrică Pavel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C Steaua Berca's Adrian Lăzărescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save F.C Steaua Berca from getting a goal against them. After 76 minutes, Sorin Cotuțiu made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Prahova FC's Dorel Vasilescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sorin Cotuțiu in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorel Vasilescu saved Prahova FC from getting behind. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
