After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Ariando Alacuart managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Baia Mare's supporters rose to their feet, but Ariando Alacuart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolae Moți breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 14 in the game by Mihăiţă Caramarin from a close distance when the talented Diego Osuna managed to make a qualified save. FC Baia Mare's players were relieved. 16 minutes into the game, Leontin Vâtcă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Baia Mare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ilteu CSM the free kick. After 16 played minutes FC Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Leontin Vâtcă. Mihăiţă Caramarin hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Mihăiţă Caramarin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Basarab Panduru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luca Scaeru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 played minutes FC Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Basarab Panduru. Ariando Alacuart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolae Moți having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ariando Alacuart made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Basarab Panduru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Baia Mare and the Ilteu CSM players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eduard Isaia's late challenge caught a FC Baia Mare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduard Isaia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd minute Ariando Alacuart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolae Moți saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niculae Maleș could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Nicolae Moți made a huge save. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Diego Osuna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Luca Scaeru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ariando Alacuart blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolae Moți having to make a save. During the 81st minute of the match Basarab Panduru completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Basarab Panduru a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, FC Baia Mare's Basarab Panduru got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Diego Osuna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihăiţă Caramarin, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Eduard Isaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Ilteu CSM failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
