Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Birceii CF's Augustin Goanță started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Cornel Bocșa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Surcea AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornel Bocșa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nichifor Receanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nichifor Receanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augustin Miron, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Surcea AC's goal looked a bit too open when Augustin Goanță came free, but Eric Lucănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornel Bocșa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Receanu having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Cornel Bocșa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nichifor Receanu was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cornel Bocșa sped through Birceii CF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nichifor Receanu. Emilian Becheanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Birceii CF's Augustin Goanță got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilian Becheanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Lucănescu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augustin Goanță in the 34th minute of play forced Surcea AC's goalkeeper Eric Lucănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nichifor Receanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustin Miron in the 36th minute of play. Ciprian Balint kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Cornel Bocșa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Receanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Bogdan Drăgan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Birceii CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Surcea AC the free kick. In the 44thth minute of the game Cornel Bocșa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birceii CF's Nichifor Receanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Birceii CF's Augustin Goanță got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augustin Miron made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Nistor Morar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augustin Miron in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nichifor Receanu saved Birceii CF from getting behind. The Surcea AC fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Surcea AC's Cornel Bocșa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 60 minutes into the match, Surcea AC's Cornel Bocșa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nichifor Receanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cornel Bocșa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cornel Bocșa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Birceii CF! After 76 minutes of play, Birceii CF's Emilian Becheanu made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eric Lucănescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eric Lucănescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martin Bujor went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. The supporters of Surcea AC booed when Birceii CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Bărbânță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augustin Miron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Receanu having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Surcea AC's Cornel Bocșa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-5. In the 96th match minute, Surcea AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valer Cristoloveanu to maneuver through the defense. The Surcea AC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
