Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Costel Potra started the match with the kick off. Ştefan Mitu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugurel Zmărăndescu in the 5th minute of play. After 6 played minutes Poli Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Doru Cârnu. Costel Potra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Poli Timisoara's Niculae Aluncai got a free kick in the 11th minute. A collision led to Cicanesti CF getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Sorin Craia hit a great ball. Cicanesti CF's Aurel Iliuță proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Cicanesti CF from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sabin Rioşanu got free with Aurel Iliuță in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Gaiță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurel Iliuță having to interfere. Mugurel Zmărăndescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Mitu having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Șerban Ionițoiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cicanesti CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Aurel Iliuță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Gaiță, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Șerban Ionițoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Mitu having to interfere. Doru Cârnu hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristian Gaiță made a kick off. Bogdan Arosculesei was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 52nd minute. Cicanesti CF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cicanesti CF's goalkeeper Aurel Iliuță, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 58 minutes, Iacob Bitang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cicanesti CF and the Poli Timisoara players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, one of Cicanesti CF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cicanesti CF. Cicanesti CF's Aurel Iliuță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabin Rioşanu in the 63rd minute of play. Ştefan Mitu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costel Potra in the 69th minute of the match. Bogdan Arosculesei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ştefan Mitu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 81st minute, Gabriel Beșliu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Poli Timisoara's Ştefan Mitu didn't even have to move. With a little luck, Poli Timisoara's Ştefan Mitu got control of the ball when Mugurel Zmărăndescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ştefan Mitu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugurel Zmărăndescu went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Aurel Iliuță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabin Rioşanu in the 87th minute of the match. If Sabin Rioşanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cicanesti CF getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Horea Nicolaescu hit a great ball. Cicanesti CF's Aurel Iliuță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabin Rioşanu in the 92nd minute of play. 97 minutes into the game, Poli Timisoara's Cristian Gaiță nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurel Iliuță made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When the final whistle sounded Cicanesti CF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Poli Timisoara.
