Nittony Lions's Florin Malcoci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorel Bulă in the 14th minute of play. Dorel Bulă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florin Malcoci read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Dorel Bulă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cazachi's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorel Bulă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florin Malcoci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dorel Bulă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florin Malcoci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Bulă in the 25th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Nittony Lions's Viorel Donose threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gigi Cârțan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Călin Mavrogheni in the 33rd minute of play forced Nittony Lions's goalkeeper Florin Malcoci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Călin Mavrogheni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Florin Malcoci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorel Bulă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nittony Lions's goalkeeper Florin Malcoci, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Călin Mavrogheni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Viorel Donose showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigi Cârțan in the 53rd minute of the match. Dorel Bulă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Florin Malcoci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nittony Lions's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Călin Mavrogheni scored to the left of an out of position Florin Malcoci, making the score, 0-1. Dorel Bulă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florin Malcoci made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Călin Mavrogheni sent off a good shot on target. Mădălin Nae hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When Moise Costeiantu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nittony Lions's protests and gave Moise Costeiantu a yellow card for diving instead. 81 minutes into the game, Călin Mavrogheni recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Florin Malcoci. Călin Mavrogheni showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Claudiu Pârcălab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Mustea might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florin Malcoci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Mustea ran back to his position shaking his head. Călin Mavrogheni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute, Călin Mavrogheni left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cazachi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Avram Nedelcea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Florin Malcoci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cazachi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
