The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andrei Vernescu struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Piorno Huelga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sirlau CF. Sirlau CF's Francisc Potopea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Sirlau CF from getting a goal against them. After 15 minutes, Petre Lunca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Unirea Tiganesti and the Sirlau CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Francisc Potopea made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Petre Lunca sent off a good shot on target. Piorno Huelga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piri Dolar, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Piorno Huelga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Pătran in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petre Lunca in the 47th minute of play forced Sirlau CF's goalkeeper Francisc Potopea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Petre Lunca to make the kick off. Unirea Tiganesti's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Andrei Vernescu 56 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Francisc Potopea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Manzo in the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Sirlau CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Vernescu to maneuver through the defense. Lucian Pătran hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 69 minutes, Petre Lunca made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Sirlau CF's Francisc Potopea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 73 minutes of play, Unirea Tiganesti's Claudio Manzo made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisc Potopea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Piri Dolar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Piorno Huelga made a huge save. Piorno Huelga made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Piri Dolar sent off a good shot on target. Piorno Huelga was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Piri Dolar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-3 in the 84 minute of play. Piri Dolar was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Sirlau CF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 90 minutes into the match, Eusebiu Olariu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Piorno Huelga. Unirea Tiganesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusebiu Olariu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-4. Many of Sirlau CF's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Sirlau CF may have spent more time on the ball, but Unirea Tiganesti were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
