With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maxim Bălace in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidiu Ştiopul saved Ciornei CF from getting behind. Ovidiu Ştiopul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxim Bălace, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emil Moțoc scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihnea Toader, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 20 minutes into the match, Niculae Milcoveanu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mihnea Toader, 2-0. Emil Moțoc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maxim Bălace struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Ovidiu Ştiopul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UTA Arad. If Emil Moțoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emil Moțoc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Minea kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Niculae Milcoveanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maxim Bălace fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Ştiopul having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

UTA Arad's Mihnea Toader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niculae Milcoveanu in the 52nd minute of play. Maxim Bălace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ovidiu Ştiopul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Emil Moțoc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ciornei CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When Ciornei CF's Niculae Milcoveanu in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 75 minutes, Octav Bungescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciornei CF and the UTA Arad players grew even worse after the yellow card. Octav Bungescu kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Radu Manole fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UTA Arad's protests and gave Radu Manole a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to UTA Arad getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Radu Manole hit a great ball. If Emil Moțoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 87 minutes of play, Ciornei CF's Emil Moțoc made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mihnea Toader was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Moțoc in the 91st minute of play forced UTA Arad's goalkeeper Mihnea Toader to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihnea Toader made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Milcoveanu in the 95th minute of play.
