Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) AFC ATLETIC KIDS's Ion Maior started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Panait Geoană took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Balint, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute, Costel Bărbulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the game, Steaua București's Ilie Adrian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Panait Geoană made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. AFC ATLETIC KIDS's Panait Geoană played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilie Adrian in the 17th minute of play. Panait Geoană showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilie Adrian in the 18th minute of the match. AFC ATLETIC KIDS's Ion Maior got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, AFC ATLETIC KIDS's goal looked a bit too open when Codrin Văcaru came free, but Panait Geoană reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the AFC ATLETIC KIDS defense, Vali Craia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Panait Geoană. The AFC ATLETIC KIDS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Panait Geoană should have stopped the shot. When Ilie Adrian fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua București's protests and gave Ilie Adrian a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th match minute, Steaua București was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Adrian to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes Steaua București got a freekick which was hit by Dan Molodețiu. Ion Maior could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Mihăiţă Neața made a huge save. A collision led to Steaua București getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ilie Adrian hit a great ball. Silviu Răduleț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ion Maior recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Codruț Buciu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Mihăiţă Neața tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua București's zone, Silviu Răduleț stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihăiţă Neața came out of the goal and Silviu Răduleț tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Codrin Văcaru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Panait Geoană. AFC ATLETIC KIDS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Codrin Văcaru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gabi Balint stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Costel Bărbulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. A hard shot by Corneliu Jivulescu from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Panait Geoană's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ion Maior blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mihăiţă Neața having to make a save. AFC ATLETIC KIDS's Iustin Ghimiș got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute Ilie Adrian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panait Geoană saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Steaua București booed when AFC ATLETIC KIDS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgil Burtea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ion Maior received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Mihăiţă Neața tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Silviu Răduleț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panait Geoană made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Vali Craia sent off a good shot on target. Silviu Răduleț struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Mihăiţă Neața didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC ATLETIC KIDS. 89 minutes into the game, Codrin Văcaru recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Panait Geoană. Codrin Văcaru showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. 92 minutes into the match, AFC ATLETIC KIDS's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Balint came free, but Panait Geoană reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panait Geoană made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Balint in the 94th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Steaua București's goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Ghimiș came free, but Mihăiţă Neața reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Steaua București eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
