Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mihăiţă Marchiș took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Niculae Casian notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CFR Cluj's Cristinel Zăraşcu. Cristinel Zăraşcu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Laurențiu Chioreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Roşu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 22 minutes, Mihăiţă Marchiș managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santelena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihăiţă Marchiș was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Niculae Casian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristinel Zăraşcu having to interfere. Santelena's Laurențiu Chioreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florin Roşu in the 30th minute of play. Laurențiu Chioreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Roşu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alexandru Durbac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandru Durbac in the 38th minute of play forced Santelena's goalkeeper Laurențiu Chioreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute of the match Gelu Pop shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laurențiu Chioreanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alexandru Durbac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alexandru Durbac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Laurențiu Chioreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Roşu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandru Durbac to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Mihăiţă Marchiș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristinel Zăraşcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute Niculae Casian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristinel Zăraşcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CFR Cluj's Cristinel Zăraşcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihăiţă Marchiș in the 55th minute of play. Alexandru Durbac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurențiu Chioreanu having to interfere. Cristinel Zăraşcu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niculae Casian's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. A collision led to CFR Cluj getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Marcu Cernea hit a great ball. Niculae Casian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mihăiţă Marchiș came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Santelena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihăiţă Marchiș couldn't finish the play. Mihăiţă Marchiș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Santelena's goalkeeper Laurențiu Chioreanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florin Roşu. Alexandru Durbac might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laurențiu Chioreanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandru Durbac ran back to his position shaking his head. Florin Roşus short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Laurențiu Chioreanu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Laurențiu Chioreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Durbac, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Santelena fans cheered their team off the field, for while CFR Cluj had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
