Cobiuta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calimanesti the free kick. After having played for 6 minutes, Liviu Baniciu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calimanesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liviu Baniciu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Niculae Turcu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Petre Harhoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manole Cotuțiu in the 13th minute of play forced Cobiuta's goalkeeper Felix Vasilică to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liviu Baniciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Francisc Stăniloaie charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisc Stăniloaie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cobiuta's Francisc Stăniloaie got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Liviu Baniciu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calimanesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leontin Porumbescu was the one to do the kick off. Tarık Belen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remus Răducan in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Niculae Turcu made a precise shot to the right of Felix Vasilică. Cobiuta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Matei Trăiloiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. In the 71st minute, Liviu Baniciu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Vasilică made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Niculae Turcu sent off a good shot on target. 80 minutes into the match, Leontin Porumbescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tarık Belen. Calimanesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leontin Porumbescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Niculae Turcu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 85th playminute. After a defensive mix-up in Cobiuta's zone, Liviu Baniciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Vasilică came out of the goal and Liviu Baniciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Liviu Baniciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calimanesti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
