JIU Petrosani's supporters rose to their feet, but Vali Herescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cătălin Balint struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Sorin Gogu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciochiuta. After 11 minutes, Doru Şerb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JIU Petrosani and the Ciochiuta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Doru Şerb kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Codrin Tastaman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ciochiuta's Cătălin Balint managed to work through JIU Petrosani's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cătălin Balint dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Calistrat Ungureanu hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Isac Druga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ferdinand Cârstoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Ciochiuta's goalkeeper Ferdinand Cârstoiu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vali Herescu. Ferdinand Cârstoiu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sever Minteuan went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 41st minute of the match, Vali Herescu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ferdinand Cârstoiu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of JIU Petrosani booed when Ciochiuta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicu Codru didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Iustin Buta from long distance, 43 minutes into the match, got Ferdinand Cârstoiu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Isac Druga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isac Druga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isac Druga got in the 61st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ferdinand Cârstoiu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Ferdinand Cârstoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isac Druga in the 69th minute of the match. Sorin Gogu came out of the goal and Codrin Tastaman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to JIU Petrosani getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Sever Minteuan hit a great ball. Codrin Tastaman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sorin Gogu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ferdinand Cârstoiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isac Druga's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. The supporters of JIU Petrosani booed when Ciochiuta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurel Pop didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciochiuta's Ferdinand Cârstoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Herescu in the 93rd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Vali Herescu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ciochiuta's Ferdinand Cârstoiu. Ferdinand Cârstoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
