In the 47th minute Tudor Oneț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Cupșa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Apahida were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Augustin Nanu made the kick off in the second half. FC Universitatea Craiova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Apahida the free kick. The supporters of Apahida booed when FC Universitatea Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxim Codrescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Tudor Oneț's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marius Cupșa was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. When the match was over Apahida could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Universitatea Craiova throughout the match.
