After 12 minutes, Felix Senin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Columbul and the Bulenii players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute Dragoş Aanuţei suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Stelian Zdroană's late challenge caught a Bulenii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stelian Zdroană helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Bulenii got a freekick which was hit by Cornel Petrică. Stelian Zdroană received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Florin Hălmăgeanu came out of the goal and Stelian Zdroană tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiberiu Costea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Valentin Urderean fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Columbul's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
