After some careless play in the Columbul defense, Ilie Lovin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valeriu Văduvescu. The Columbul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valeriu Văduvescu should have stopped the shot.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiberiu Costea to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Eliodor Buda reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Valeriu Văduvescu. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 56th minute Tiberiu Costea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Lelescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Stelian Zdroană notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Poneasca's Irinel Lelescu. When the referee blew the final whistle, Columbul could leave the field as winners, despite Poneasca having more of the ball for most of the match.
