Damian Gheban might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gheorghe Petrea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damian Gheban ran back to his position shaking his head. 5 minutes into the game, Petrică Dichiseanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cotatcu SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paltinata the free kick. After 6 played minutes Cotatcu SC got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Dichiseanu. Paltinata's Iulian Tomoioagă got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cotatcu SC's Gelu Ciociu got a free kick in the 7th minute. Gheorghe Petrea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Gheban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dumitru Petrulean kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Lucian Văidianu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Eugen Apostolescu made a huge save. 14 minutes into the match, Cotatcu SC's Damian Gheban sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gheorghe Petrea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 17 minutes into the game, Cotatcu SC's Damian Gheban nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gheorghe Petrea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eugen Apostolescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Văidianu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucian Văidianu to strike the kick off in the second half. Lucian Văidianu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Apostolescu having to interfere. Emilian Rada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Gheorghe Petrea made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucian Văidianu in the 71st minute of play forced Cotatcu SC's goalkeeper Eugen Apostolescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilian Rada got free with Gheorghe Petrea in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute Iulian Tomoioagă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Apostolescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paltinata's Gheorghe Petrea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Gheban in the 82nd minute of play. Pavel Mercea hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Gheban in the 85th minute of play forced Paltinata's goalkeeper Gheorghe Petrea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emilian Rada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Gheorghe Petrea made a huge save. Eugen Apostolescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Văidianu in the 90th minute of the match. When Valeriu Iorda fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paltinata's protests and gave Valeriu Iorda a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cotatcu SC booed when Paltinata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriu Iorda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Gheban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
