Paltinata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucian Văidianu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucian Văidianu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Niculae Lamru's late challenge caught a Paltinata's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octav Bitang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Voitinel's Octav Bitang nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gheorghe Petrea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 85 minutes into the match, Voitinel's goal looked a bit too open when Sever Vasilache came free, but Ivan Achim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lucian Văidianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
