Iurie Dumitrescu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mugur Chirilă showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Fărcașu got free with Iurie Dumitrescu in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Prejoiul UFC booed when Tarzia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horia Cozmâncă didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tarzia's goalkeeper Cazimir Şerbănoiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gigi Ştefoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cazimir Şerbănoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Cazimir Şerbănoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigi Ştefoi in the 38th minute of the match. Iurie Dumitrescu came out of the goal and Mugur Chirilă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victor Petruescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 minutes of play Tarzia's Horia Cozmâncă was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Horia Cozmâncă hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Prejoiul UFC's Teodor Mihăileanu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cazimir Şerbănoiu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Tarzia's Cazimir Şerbănoiu got control of the ball when Gigi Ştefoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victor Petruescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute.
