Doroscani were furious when Basarab Maruță was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Doroscani fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Balesti a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leonard Ţugui, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Doroscani's Adam Zamfir. 0-1. When Marian Dimofte came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Balesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marian Dimofte couldn't finish the play. If Paul Radu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 played minutes Doroscani got a freekick which was hit by Gigi Jdeica. Doroscani's Adam Zamfir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Dimofte in the 21st minute of play. Andrei Postelnicescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragoş Tudose having to interfere. Matei Encea struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Dragoş Tudose didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doroscani. Andrei Postelnicescu came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dragoş Tudose could save by the left post. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Doroscani. Dan Nicodim stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dragoş Tudose. 1-1. Marian Dimofte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Matei Encea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Balesti getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Sabin Josan hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
