The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorin Mitică during the 3rd minute. The Bajnegi CS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 9th match minute, Bajnegi CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iosif Maghiran to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Avram Receanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeo Ghiciușca. Runca CSS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Avram Receanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Lucrețiu Barbonța managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bajnegi CS's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucrețiu Barbonța was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeo Ghiciușca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Octavian Minteuan struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Basarab Baniciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Runca CSS. Iosif Maghiran hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Olimpiu Capșuneanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olimpiu Capșuneanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basarab Baniciu having to interfere. Octavian Minteuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olimpiu Capșuneanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Basarab Baniciu made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavian Minteuan in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basarab Baniciu saved Bajnegi CS from getting behind. After the first half Bajnegi CS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Runca CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavian Minteuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Avram Receanu took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Romeo Ghiciușca to make any attempt to save it. Olimpiu Capșuneanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes of play, Runca CSS's Octavian Minteuan made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Basarab Baniciu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristinel Dănășel might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basarab Baniciu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristinel Dănășel ran back to his position shaking his head. Bajnegi CS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
