Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gorban's Bogdan Onciu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eduard Jianu hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Ilie Cârstea lost his temper 7 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 6 minutes into the game, one of Gorban:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Murughiol. Flavius Mateescu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nistor Hurezeanu. 0-1. Nistor Hurezeanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dan Mîțu's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Sebastian Ţiriac received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. David Gheordunescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dorel Ciorogaru fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murughiol's protests and gave Dorel Ciorogaru a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Murughiol got a freekick which was hit by Dorel Ciorogaru. Sebastian Ţiriac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dan Mîțu in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nistor Hurezeanu saved Gorban from getting behind. In the 35th minute, Murughiol's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sebastian Ţiriac fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 37 minutes, Dan Mîțu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murughiol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Mîțu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sebastian Ţiriac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugen Hogaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Nistor Hurezeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cezar Honciu to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Mîțu got free with Nistor Hurezeanu in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the game, Laurențiu Pantiș was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorban's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Murughiol the free kick. After a rather tough play, Gorban's Laurențiu Pantiș got a free kick in the 63rd minute. If Dan Mîțu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Ţiriac in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Gheordunescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dan Mîțu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nistor Hurezeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezar Honciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Sebastian Ţiriac notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Murughiol's David Gheordunescu. David Gheordunescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cezar Honciu's late challenge caught a Gorban's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cezar Honciu helped the player get up and apologised. Cezar Honciu hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 93 minutes, Mihai Ciompec mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gorban and the Murughiol players grew even worse after the yellow card. Murughiol's Dan Mîțu got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gorban fans cheered their team off the field, for while Murughiol had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
