Ciungi's Mihăiţă Ababei got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 29 played minutes Schender got a freekick which was hit by Anton Pătru. Aurel Demian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Piersic, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After some careless play in the Ciungi defense, Silviu Piersic kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurel Demian. The Ciungi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurel Demian should have stopped the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Mihăiţă Ababei notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Schender's Remus Iosif. Remus Iosif was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paul Goșa kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes of play, Schender's Silviu Piersic made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurel Demian was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doru Gruescu made a kick off. Mihăiţă Ababei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Iosif having to interfere. Ciungi's Mihăiţă Ababei got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emil Sbârcea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Iosif having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Vlad Tufescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Schender's Avram Ştirbu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ciungi. When Mihăiţă Ababei came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ciungi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihăiţă Ababei couldn't finish the play. Emil Sbârcea took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remus Iosif. Remus Iosif dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. Schender were furious when Călin Copil was red carded, 76 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Șişman in the 78th minute of play forced Schender's goalkeeper Remus Iosif to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ciungi booed when Schender was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doru Gruescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emil Sbârcea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihăiţă Ababei in the 85th minute of play forced Schender's goalkeeper Remus Iosif to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remus Iosif didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mihăiţă Ababei went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. Ciungi's Paul Goșa got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emil Sbârcea in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remus Iosif prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Silviu Piersic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciungi walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
