Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Barza AS's Gigi Proca started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Mădălin Pacuraru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dumitru Alexandrescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dumitru Alexandrescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Pipirig in the 6th minute of the match. Sever Trifănucă hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the game, Sever Trifănucă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barza AS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poptelec CF the free kick. In the 9th minute, Sever Trifănucă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albert Lăzărescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 11th match minute, Barza AS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Iorga to maneuver through the defense. Sever Trifănucă hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Barza AS's Ovidiu Iorga got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Mădălin Pacuraru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Dumitru Alexandrescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 19th minute, Horia Pipirig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horia Pipirig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dumitru Alexandrescu having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Barza AS got a freekick which was hit by Ovidiu Iorga. 27 minutes into the match, Horia Pipirig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dumitru Alexandrescu. Barza AS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horia Pipirig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 29th minute, Marcel Avramescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cezar Banu came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Barza AS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Banu couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute Mădălin Pacuraru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dumitru Alexandrescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Cezar Banu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Poptelec CF's Mugur Zăreanu. Mugur Zăreanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mădălin Pacuraru was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Mădălin Pacuraru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horia Pipirig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute, one of Barza AS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barza AS. Albert Lăzărescu placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Silviu Popescu charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silviu Popescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd match minute, Poptelec CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Popescu to maneuver through the defense. Calistrat Mumuleanu charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calistrat Mumuleanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Calistrat Mumuleanu kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Iurie Tutunaru in the 69th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Mugur Zăreanu's left hand side. Horia Pipirig in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dumitru Alexandrescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Cezar Banu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barza AS's protests and gave Cezar Banu a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Barza AS got a freekick which was hit by Cezar Banu. Horia Pipirig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 85 played minutes Poptelec CF got a freekick which was hit by Calistrat Mumuleanu. Barza AS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Iurie Tutunaru in the 88th minute. Iurie Tutunaru made a great header on Barza AS's corner, it was just that Poptelec CF's Mugur Zăreanu managed to reach the ball for a save. Horia Pipirig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calistrat Mumuleanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dumitru Alexandrescu having to make a save. Cezar Banu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 102nd minute. Mugur Zăreanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
