Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) FC Velos's Gelu Horațiu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Claudiu Bărcăuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Cristian Grecescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodor Focșa was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Aristide Drâmba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Tomescu having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Cristian Grecescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netotul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Grecescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gelu Horațiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Robert Frățilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Gelu Horațiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pavel Lupeanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodor Focșa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pavel Lupeanu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute Pavel Lupeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodor Focșa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gelu Horațiu came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the FC Velos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gelu Horațiu couldn't finish the play. If Gelu Horațiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC Velos booed when Netotul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Bărcăuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gelu Horațiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Tudor Tomescu managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when FC Velos's Gelu Horațiu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Grecescu to make the kick off. Netotul's Pavel Lupeanu got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pavel Lupeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 61 minutes into the match, FC Velos's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Grecescu came free, but Teodor Focșa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netotul's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiberiu Grindeanu in the 63rd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Velos's goalie and right to Horea Oroian. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Velos's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Velos's goalkeeper Teodor Focșa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Gelu Horațiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Grecescu in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodor Focșa saved FC Velos from getting behind. If Aristide Drâmba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gelu Horațiu in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tudor Tomescu saved Netotul from getting behind. After having played for 84 minutes, Pavel Lupeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
