Ilia CS's attack was well implemented in the 12th minute, but when Aron Elefterescu was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Aurelian Manciulea's late challenge caught a Ilia CS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelian Manciulea helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ilia CS booed when FC Moldova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Răchită could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Claudiu Turcu made a huge save. Claudiu Turcu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Elefterescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Edgar Răchită had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilia CS's Aron Elefterescu got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Moldova's goalkeeper Claudiu Turcu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
