Burlug's Gabriel Măguran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Corbea in the 3rd minute of play. Adrian Lițiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Adomniței having to interfere. Constantin Hrebenciuc had several of the Ponoreni SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Nichifor Adomniței as he didn't even see the shot coming. Constantin Hrebenciuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Adomniței having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Burlug's goal looked a bit too open when Viorel Stamatiu came free, but Gabriel Măguran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Ponoreni SC's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Hrebenciuc came free, but Nichifor Adomniței reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ponoreni SC's Stelian Zbârciog got a free kick in the 35th minute. Răzvan Mutu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Adrian Lițiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nichifor Adomniței. Ponoreni SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Lițiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Constantin Hrebenciuc was the one to do the kick off. Iurie Corvin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Nichifor Adomniței tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute Constantin Hrebenciuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Adomniței saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nichifor Adomniței showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Lițiu in the 61st minute of the match. Adrian Lițiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ponoreni SC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Leontin Ghiorman hit a great ball. Constantin Hrebenciuc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Constantin Hrebenciuc in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nichifor Adomniței saved Ponoreni SC from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Stelian Zbârciog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrian Lițiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Adomniței having to interfere.
