After having played for 8 minutes, Rareș Vorniceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balomiresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rareș Vorniceanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aurelian Cruceru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Arieșan in the 14th minute. Balomiresti's Aurelian Cruceru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Balomiresti from getting a goal against them. In the 21st minute, Ştefan Săvescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cornel Todericiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gică Todoran in the 25th minute of the match. Balomiresti's Aurelian Cruceru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Balomiresti from getting a goal against them. When Ştefan Săvescu fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Andreicnst's protests and gave Ştefan Săvescu a yellow card for diving instead. Ştefan Săvescu kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Gigel Gavrilescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cornel Todericiu. FC Andreicnst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gigel Gavrilescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 33rd minute of the match Gigel Gavrilescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornel Todericiu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Robert Arieșan succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 36th playminute. In the 39th minute of the match Damian Şoimaru sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornel Todericiu skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gică Todoran in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornel Todericiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cornel Todericiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gică Todoran's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Gigel Gavrilescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Todericiu having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Iacob Bianu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balomiresti's supporters rose to their feet, but Iacob Bianu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornel Todericiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Balomiresti's Aurelian Cruceru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ştefan Săvescu in the 54th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Andreicnst's Cornel Todericiu got control of the ball when Gică Todoran tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of FC Andreicnst booed when Balomiresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gică Todoran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Balomiresti's Aurelian Cruceru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Griguță in the 68th minute of play. When Balomiresti's Gică Todoran in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Iustinian Volosin kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Gică Todoran came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Balomiresti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gică Todoran couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Gică Todoran took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Cornel Todericiu to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to FC Andreicnst getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Emilian Stanciu hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Balomiresti eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
