Hotesti's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Martin Tirulescu scored to the left of an out of position Eric Lupașcu, making the score, 1-0. In the 16th minute Iordache Maleș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Stolojan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Renașterea Drumul Taberei's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Maleș came free, but Grigore Stolojan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grigore Stolojan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Maleș, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute.
