The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Demsus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dan Rogoz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Petru Creteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Borăscu in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Cacova's goal looked a bit too open when Iordache Buciuman came free, but Sandu Bîlbă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Demsus defense, Flavius Mihoc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petru Creteanu. The Demsus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petru Creteanu should have stopped the shot. Demsus's Petru Creteanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Borăscu in the 34th minute of play. After 36 played minutes Cacova got a freekick which was hit by Cristinel Tărbac. Iordache Buciuman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Sandu Bîlbă made a huge save. A collision led to Cacova getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Mihail Balint hit a great ball. In the 48th minute of the match Mihai Râznicu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sandu Bîlbă showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Cacova played a much better game than Demsus and deserved their victory. The Demsus players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
