Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Flavius Panait took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teodor Budișteanu. Racul's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 13th minute, Călin Calciu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Stenea's zone, Toader Enășoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucrețiu Şerb came out of the goal and Toader Enășoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute, Ionel Alupoaie reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodor Budișteanu. The goal made the score 1-1. Petre Gorjanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Teodor Budișteanu made a huge save. After having played for 26 minutes, Ionel Alupoaie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stenea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionel Alupoaie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ionel Alupoaie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodor Budișteanu having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Toader Enășoiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute Toader Enășoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Şerb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Călin Calciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toader Enășoiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lucrețiu Şerb. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Toader Enășoiu ran back to his position shaking his head. 41 minutes into the game, one of Stenea:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Racul a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Corneliu Istrăteanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Stenea's Lucrețiu Şerb. 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petre Gorjanu got free with Teodor Budișteanu in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Călin Calciu to make the kick off. If Nistor Albulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Călin Calciu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lucrețiu Şerb came out and tried to block the shot, but Călin Calciu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 54th minute. Dorel Oțeteleșanu walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 64th minute, Petre Gorjanu made a precise shot to the right of Teodor Budișteanu. Racul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After a rather tough play, Racul's Ionuț Luțu got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes, Stenea's Dorel Oțeteleșanu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teodor Budișteanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stenea reached it. After 69 minutes, Nistor Albulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stenea and the Racul players grew even worse after the yellow card. Călin Calciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucrețiu Şerb having to interfere. Toader Enășoiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th match minute, Racul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorin Munteanu to maneuver through the defense. Stenea's Petre Gorjanu got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Racul's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Alupoaie came free, but Teodor Budișteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Racul's Călin Calciu got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Dudău received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Teodor Budișteanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 99 minutes into the match, Stenea's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Şerb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toader Enășoiu. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Stenea players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
