Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mihail Postelnicu started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Cobweb's Ernest Tremurici sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Vârnav narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 8 minutes into the game, Ernest Tremurici cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Emanuel Vârnav was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ernest Tremurici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Vârnav having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Gernet's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Ghimiș came free, but Emanuel Vârnav reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Mihail Postelnicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toader Andriescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gernet getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Lucrețiu Șora hit a great ball. Emanuel Vârnav took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Tremurici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mihail Postelnicu's late challenge caught a Cobweb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihail Postelnicu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cobweb booed when Gernet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihail Postelnicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihăiţă Șofran kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Emanuel Vârnav showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolae Ghimiș, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Mihail Postelnicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Toader Andriescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gernet's Mihail Postelnicu got a free kick in the 48th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernest Tremurici was the one to do the kick off. Nicolae Ghimiș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toader Andriescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mihail Postelnicu went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Horea Glăvan hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Ernest Tremurici came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Cobweb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernest Tremurici couldn't finish the play. When Gernet's Mihail Postelnicu in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cobweb's goalie prevented a goal. Răzvan Patriciu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 82 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the game, one of Cobweb:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 84th minute there was a penalty for Gernet. David Focșa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Toader Andriescu. 3-2. Emanuel Vârnav made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolae Ghimiș in the 94th minute. Nicolae Ghimiș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Vârnav having to interfere. Toader Andriescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Traianescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gernet were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cobweb for a fine match.
