FCU 1948 CRAIOVA's Avram Colceriu got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Avram Colceriu in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tudor Capșuneanu saved Teii Petroșani from getting behind. Tudor Capșuneanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narcis Ciompec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Avram Colceriu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matei Ipate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, FCU 1948 CRAIOVA's Claudiu Mirciulescu got control of the ball when Matei Ipate tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tudor Capșuneanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Avram Colceriu, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st match minute, FCU 1948 CRAIOVA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucian Mantoiu to maneuver through the defense. Claudiu Mirciulescu was a little too slow when Matei Ipate got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-0. FCU 1948 CRAIOVA's Claudiu Mirciulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save FCU 1948 CRAIOVA from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Matei Ipate made the kick off in the second half. Claudiu Mirciulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucrețiu Curteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Tudor Capșuneanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Avram Colceriu in the 56th minute. In the 59th minute, Eduard Bântu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Teii Petroșani fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Matei Ipate recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucrețiu Curteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Mirciulescu having to interfere. Leontin Todoran's late challenge caught a Teii Petroșani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leontin Todoran helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th match minute, FCU 1948 CRAIOVA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leontin Todoran to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Vali Ghițulescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudiu Mirciulescu was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. FCU 1948 CRAIOVA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matei Ipate was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Teii Petroșani's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
