Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emanuel Benga started the match with the kick off. When Răzvan Hurmuz fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC MEDVE's protests and gave Răzvan Hurmuz a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pompiliu Niculcea during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Iacob Bârsescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Vochin in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Tofan in the 13th minute of play forced FC MEDVE's goalkeeper Rareș Zmărăndache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Răzvan Hurmuz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 15 minutes had been played. Răzvan Hurmuz kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Dacian Greavu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rareș Zmărăndache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dacian Greavu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ASU Politehnica Timisoara's Iacob Bârsescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Vochin in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horaţiu Vochin during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, FC MEDVE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Vochin to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Tofan in the 30th minute of play forced FC MEDVE's goalkeeper Rareș Zmărăndache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgil Ioanițiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Bârsescu having to interfere. Rareș Zmărăndache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Tofan in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Dedu in the 36th minute of play forced ASU Politehnica Timisoara's goalkeeper Iacob Bârsescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horaţiu Vochin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Iacob Bârsescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Cosmin Tofan made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Dacian Greavu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rareș Zmărăndache was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Cosmin Tofan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's Iacob Bârsescu got control of the ball when Horaţiu Vochin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Iacob Bârsescu made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Horaţiu Vochin sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to ASU Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Narcis Pumnu hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Pompiliu Niculcea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 68 played minutes FC MEDVE got a freekick which was hit by Horaţiu Vochin. Dacian Greavu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rareș Zmărăndache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rareș Zmărăndache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosmin Tofan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC MEDVE getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Gheorghe Dedu hit a great ball.
