The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Muja got free with Sergiu Uduleanu in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 played minutes F.C. Dinamo Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Gelu Baba. STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's Paul Zglimbea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosmin Pantelimon in the 19th minute of play. The wind increased when Maxim Andrițoiu made the kick off in the second half. Sergiu Uduleanu came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's Dan Muja. But to his dismay, Dan Muja quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 55 played minutes STEAUA BUCUREȘTI got a freekick which was hit by Eusebiu Chitimia. In the 57th minute, STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Horea Ştefănucă fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sergiu Uduleanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Muja in the 61st minute of play. Eusebiu Chitimia hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Dorel Tâlvescu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's Paul Zglimbea didn't even have to move. Ionuț Bogza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of STEAUA BUCUREȘTI booed when F.C. Dinamo Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorel Feteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matei Stoian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergiu Uduleanu having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Maxim Andrițoiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paul Zglimbea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosmin Pantelimon in the 81st minute of the match. In the 87thth minute of the game Maxim Andrițoiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Dinamo Bucuresti's Sergiu Uduleanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Horea Ştefănucă was extremely unlucky when he, in the 89th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 90th minute, Eric Uncheşu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Pantelimon in the 94th minute of play forced STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's goalkeeper Paul Zglimbea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sergiu Uduleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxim Andrițoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the F.C. Dinamo Bucuresti players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for STEAUA BUCUREȘTI.
