Basarab Matei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dragoş Pavalescu in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dragoş Pavalescu got free with Basarab Matei in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Argo's Basarab Matei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxim Hurmuzescu in the 12th minute of play. Somuzul Fălticeni's Emilian Prunaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Spineanu in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute Pompiliu Nedelciu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Matei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Argo's goalkeeper Basarab Matei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dragoş Pavalescu. Manole Ghiciușca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th play minute Dragoş Pavalescu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Basarab Matei. 1-0. Marcu Drăgoi hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Iordache Brănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Brănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Argo's Paul Spineanu in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Somuzul Fălticeni's goalie prevented a goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Somuzul Fălticeni fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Argo. Paul Spineanu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emilian Prunaru. 1-1. Eric Foltea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Somuzul Fălticeni got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Gâlcă. A hard, long distance shot from Niculae Ghișe flew over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maxim Hurmuzescu was the one to do the kick off. If Maxim Hurmuzescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilian Prunaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manole Ghiciușca, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Iordache Brănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 63 played minutes, Somuzul Fălticeni's Marcu Drăgoi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Basarab Matei came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Somuzul Fălticeni reached it. Marcu Drăgoi kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Niculae Ghișe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Argo's Basarab Matei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leontin Vişoianu in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Argo's goal looked a bit too open when Leontin Vişoianu came free, but Basarab Matei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Somuzul Fălticeni's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Ghiciușca came free, but Emilian Prunaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basarab Matei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxim Hurmuzescu in the 78th minute of play. Leontin Vişoianu scored 2-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Basarab Matei, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Emilian Prunaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordache Brănescu in the 84th minute of the match. Paul Spineanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Somuzul Fălticeni were victorious despite being under pressure from Argo for much of the match.
