Bontesti SC's Cornel Borza got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 6 minutes into the match, Vargyas's goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Borza came free, but Cazimir Diaconescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ionică Zgabei came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Vargyas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ionică Zgabei couldn't finish the play. Ionel Bobariu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Radu Ghițulescu in the 33rd minute. Pavel Vochin might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cazimir Diaconescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pavel Vochin ran back to his position shaking his head. Ionel Bobariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionică Zgabei in the 40th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Ionel Bobariu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The supporters of Vargyas booed when Bontesti SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Roman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Radu Ghițulescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ionel Bobariu was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ionel Bobariu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The attack was good, but when Ionică Zgabei in the 74th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Bontesti SC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Dumitru Roman hit a great ball. Marin Ifrim, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Vargyas's Moise Ştoia got his second yellow card of the match in the 79th minute. The referee ordered Moise Ştoia off the ground. In the 80th minute, Moise Ştoia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cazimir Diaconescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Vargyas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bontesti SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Bontesti SC.
