Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Albert Ciuvică took the kick off in the first half of the match. Costel Negruț made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucian Greculescu in the 2nd minute. After 5 minutes of play, Varleni's Albert Ciuvică made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ionel Bobariu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ionel Bobariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Blidaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 12th match minute, Varleni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gigel Răchită to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Bontesti SC booed when Varleni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciprian Alexandrescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 14 minutes, Pavel Vochin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bontesti SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Vochin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marian Blidaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Bobariu having to interfere. If Albert Ciuvică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Ciuvică scored 1-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionel Bobariu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Varleni's Costel Negruț got control of the ball when Pavel Vochin tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Bontesti SC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Sorin Mareș hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Daniel Boc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marian Blidaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Bobariu having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Cornel Borza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Varleni were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cornel Borza was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Daniel Boc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Albert Ciuvică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costel Negruț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornel Borza, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Bontesti SC's Pavel Vochin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Costel Negruț made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Varleni's Daniel Boc was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Varleni's Alex Malcoci got a free kick in the 66th minute. After 73 played minutes Varleni got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Alexandrescu. Pavel Vochin struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Costel Negruț didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bontesti SC. Varleni's Daniel Boc got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 77th minute, Bontesti SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Albert Ciuvică fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Bontesti SC's Ionel Bobariu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Blidaru in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Bontesti SC's Pavel Vochin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Costel Negruț made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Ciprian Alexandrescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Bobariu having to interfere. Dumitru Roman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pavel Vochin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Varleni players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
