Paul Slătineanu made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Gabriel Udrea sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of FC Baia Mare booed when Hust SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olimpiu Bucataru didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Emilian Fărcașu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Baia Mare's Cosmin Spirea. Cosmin Spirea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Fărcașu in the 16th minute of play forced FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Cosmin Spirea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Slătineanu was a little too slow when Nichifor Gugea got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-1. 22 minutes into the match, FC Baia Mare's goal looked a bit too open when Emilian Fărcașu came free, but Cosmin Spirea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Bouleanu in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Cosmin Spirea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Baia Mare getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Nichifor Gugea hit a great ball. Cosmin Spirea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Fărcașu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Fărcașu in the 28th minute of play forced FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Cosmin Spirea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Udrea made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 32ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Paul Slătineanu would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Gabriel Udrea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Paul Slătineanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Baia Mare booed when Hust SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Elenescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC Baia Mare getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Vali Pancu hit a great ball. Hust SC's Paul Slătineanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Hust SC from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Emilian Fărcașu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosmin Spirea having to interfere. Emilian Fărcașu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Cosmin Spirea made a huge save. Paul Slătineanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Gugea in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hust SC's goalkeeper Paul Slătineanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cosmin Spirea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilian Fărcașu in the 68th minute. Eduard Diaconu struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Paul Slătineanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Baia Mare. Paul Slătineanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduard Diaconu in the 74th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vali Bărnuțiu during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vali Bărnuțiu hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iurie Bouleanu in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cosmin Spirea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nichifor Gugea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hust SC's Emilian Fărcașu got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilian Fărcașu came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cosmin Spirea could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriu Minda in the 90th minute of play forced FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Cosmin Spirea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Slătineanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduard Diaconu in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Hust SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Udrea came free, but Paul Slătineanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vali Bărnuțiu struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Paul Slătineanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Baia Mare. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hust SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Baia Mare.
