With a little luck, Lemnia UFC's Ioan Valerian got control of the ball when Petrică Jilăveanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Basarab Creteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alex Baldovinescu took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marian Ifrim. Marian Ifrim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Ionuț Hăvârneanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ioan Valerian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Petrică Jilăveanu in the 17th minute. The supporters of Galaoaia AC booed when Lemnia UFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Calomfir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ioan Valerian was a little too slow when Ionuț Hăvârneanu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 28th minute, Ionuț Hăvârneanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute, Panait Măndica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Basarab Creteanu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Galaoaia AC's Marian Ifrim. Marian Ifrim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 36 played minutes Galaoaia AC got a freekick which was hit by Corneliu Paveliuc. Marian Ifrim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Baldovinescu in the 39th minute of the match. After 45 minutes, Panait Măndica mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lemnia UFC and the Galaoaia AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Lemnia UFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panait Măndica to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Lemnia UFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ioan Valerian should have stopped the shot. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galaoaia AC's goalkeeper Marian Ifrim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Lemnia UFC booed when Galaoaia AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Ponor didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Lemnia UFC's Florin Chirculescu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
